Who we are

PoolGuyX is an app that connects pool owners and pool professionals in South Florida. For any privacy question or request write to support@poolguyx.com. The App is currently operated by its owner as an individual (sole proprietor) based in Florida, not by a company; if it is later moved to a company or a successor, your data will move with it under this Policy and we will let you know.

Data we collect

Account: name, email, password (stored protected by our sign-in provider), phone number if you add one, profile photo, region and account type. What you enter: your pool’s address, city, photos, notes and access details (such as a gate code), the pool’s condition, preferred day and time, and the payment method you choose. Activity: requests, applications, messages, ratings, reports and evidence photos, listings, jobs, and “paid / received” markers. Device and usage: whether you are online and when you were last active, your push-notification subscription, and basic technical data (IP address, browser, device) used for security and bot protection. Profile details you add: languages spoken, vehicle, driver’s license and equipment are shown on your public profile; your age and work history are shared only with the owner of a job you apply to. Paid plans: your plan, billing period and payment status from Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. Referrals and Wallet: who joined through your link, commissions, and the payout details you give us to withdraw. Feedback and support messages you send us.

Location

By default we only use your general area (city or county). If you tap “use my location”, your device shares its position once so we can fill in your city; the position is sent to a map service to find the city name and we do not keep the coordinates. Addresses you type are turned into map positions by a map service.

How we use it

To run the service (match requests, notify people, show profiles, chat), verify your phone, send account and service messages, prevent fraud and abuse, review listings and reports (we may use automated tools, including AI services from our providers, to help with this; you can ask for a person to review any decision), keep the App secure, fix problems and improve it, and comply with the law.

What other users can see

Your name, photo, general region, your rating and how many people rated you. Once you are matched, the other person can see the request details you entered for that job (address, access details, and your phone number if you chose to share it). Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. Administrators can see account data and reports, and may see messages or photos that are reported or needed to handle a safety or legal issue.

Information about other people

If you give us someone else’s information — for example, your client’s pool address, gate code or photos when you post a route, cover or subcontract — you confirm you have their permission. We use it only to run that request and share it only with the person matched to it.

Who processes data for us

We use service providers that process data only to provide their service: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (sends the verification text; receives your phone number), Resend (email), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection), Google and Apple (if you choose to sign in with them), AI service providers (to help review listings and reports), Stripe (paid plans, when available), OpenStreetMap and CARTO (maps and address search; they receive the addresses or positions you look up and your IP address), and the push services of Apple, Google and Mozilla.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of people or of PoolGuyX, or as part of a sale or restructuring of the business.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. The App stores your sign-in session and preferences (such as language and dark mode) in your device’s local storage so you stay signed in. Cloudflare Turnstile may use cookies or similar technology only to tell people from bots.

Text messages

We use your phone number to send a one-time verification code by text and to help prevent fake accounts. We do not send marketing texts. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in Profile → Delete my account; your profile, listings, applications, chats and the photos you uploaded are then removed. Reports, evidence and records needed for safety, fraud prevention or legal reasons may be kept longer, and backups or logs may exist for a limited time.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, turn off notifications in your device or profile, decline location, and delete your account. You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it or delete it (including under California and other state privacy laws) by writing to support@poolguyx.com; we will answer within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for asking.

Security

We use encrypted connections and access controls, and limit who can see personal data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection. If you find a security problem, please report it privately to support@poolguyx.com.

Children and place of use

PoolGuyX is only for people 18 and older and is intended for use in the United States. Your data is stored and processed in the United States.

Changes

We may update this policy. If the change is important we will tell you in the App.
